The event is moving to a shortened festival area on Darmstädter Straße
This year, the Reinheim market will take place on June 13th and 14th in a new event area.
In the future, the festival area will run along Darmstädter Straße from the railway crossing to the Westring and will also include the shopping arcade.
Security requirements are causing changes
According to the organizers, the relocation was necessary due to increased security requirements.
In particular, the requirements for safety and evacuation concepts would have made implementation in the existing area more difficult.
The organizers also used the changes as an opportunity for a conceptual realignment of the long-established market.
New kids' area and rides planned
New features include a large family and children's area on the meadow at the corner of Darmstädter Straße/Am Schwimmbad.
A large trampoline, the mobile play unit of the children's and youth services, offers from the OAMC and a ship swing are planned there.
Along the entire festival mile, rides such as bumper cars and a Ferris wheel also provide entertainment.
Stage program and presentations
The market program is complemented by food and drink offerings, company and car exhibitions, and live music on two stages on Bergstrasse and below the Westring.
Clubs from the region will also be presenting themselves on the stages.
The Reinheim market is open on Saturday from 2 pm to 1 am and on Sunday from 12 pm to 8 pm. The official opening takes place on Saturday at 4 pm.
Traffic changes around the festival grounds
Traffic disruptions are expected starting Friday afternoon. Dismantling of the festival grounds should be completed by Monday afternoon.
Access to the EDEKA supermarket is, as in the previous year, exclusively via Bergstraße and is regulated by traffic lights.
Town twinning with Licata celebrates anniversary
The 25th anniversary of the town twinning with Licata is also included in the festival weekend.
Delegations from Italy and other partner cities are expected in Reinheim during the market weekend.
Mayor Manuel Feick thanked everyone involved for their close cooperation in developing the new concept.
