Festival from August 1st to 10th under the motto "Moving the world with music"
From August 1st to 10th, 2025, Darmstadt's historic venues will once again be transformed into atmospheric concert stages: Darmstadt Residence Festival is themed "Moving the World with Music ." The festival invites visitors to experience the unifying and transformative power of music – through sound art that awakens emotions, opens perspectives, and builds bridges.
The diverse program includes concerts featuring Baroque, Romantic, and contemporary works, presented by renowned international ensembles and soloists. A particular highlight is once again the Italian Opera Night on the open-air stage of the Mathildenhöhe on August 10, which will transport the audience to Mediterranean soundscapes with famous bel canto arias.
This year, the Residenzfestspiele will once again present artists from all over Europe:
- August 1st : CUA – Celtic escapades (Ireland)
- August 2nd : Ringmasters – Barbershop Men's Quartet (Sweden)
- August 3 : Pandemic with Bodecker & Neander – Opus 4 (Mask and Music Theatre)
- August 5th : Phantasm – Viol Consort with five viol players (England)
- August 6 : Ensemble Obligat Hamburg – Wind Quintet
- August 7 : Hathor Consort – Works by Barbara Strozzi (Belgium)
- August 10 : Italian Opera Night with a focus on Bel Canto
