The rescue chain works smoothly – thanks to first responders, the control center and the rescue service
A medical emergency on March 30, 2025 ended with a happy turn of events thanks to the perfect cooperation of the rescue workers: Harald Klein cardiac arrest in the Groß-Gerau district , was successfully resuscitated and discharged from the hospital in perfect health.
Crucial to the rescue was the quick reaction of those present , who noticed the emergency and immediately informed central control center of the Groß-Gerau district telephone instructions on how to perform CPR .
Mobile rescuers on scene in record time
At the same time, professional help was mobilized via the first responder app "Mobile Rescuers" : Two qualified paramedics arrived within minutes and continued resuscitation efforts. Shortly afterward, the ambulance service took over medical care and transported the patient to a nearby hospital. Harald Klein awoke from his medically induced coma the very next day – a success that impressively demonstrates the efficiency of the entire rescue chain.
“Our more than 600 active first responders arrive at the scene in an average of 3 minutes and 30 seconds,” says Dr. Marco Renth , Medical Director of Emergency Medical Services in the Groß-Gerau district. Daniel Becker , Head of the Control Center and Emergency Medical Services, also praises the coordinated approach: “It starts with the phone call – every second counts. This teamwork saves lives in the long run.”
Personal thanks for your commitment
After Harald Klein had fully recovered, he expressed his wish to thank his rescuers personally. In June, a moving meeting with the mobile paramedics, the emergency response team, and representatives of the municipal ambulance service. The patient expressed his deep gratitude:
"Without this perfect teamwork, I wouldn't be here today."
