An event on June 26th brings together businesses, organizations and schools in Darmstadt
Access to vocational training remains a major challenge for many young people with support needs, a migration background, or without a school-leaving certificate – despite the shortage of skilled workers. Roundtable on Vocational Training 2025 aims to address this issue directly: On Thursday, June 26 , representatives from businesses, chambers of commerce, schools, administration, and youth welfare organizations will meet at the Justus Liebig House to jointly develop ideas and strategies for inclusive vocational training practices.
The event is organized by the Youth Welfare Office of the City of Darmstadt , Department of Child and Youth Services, in cooperation with the Municipal Employment Promotion Office . Methodological support is provided by the Darmstadt-based agency quäntchen + glück .
Meeting on equal terms as a central element
"The Round Table on Vocational Training thrives on interaction on equal terms," emphasizes Mayor and Head of Social Services Barbara Akdeniz . "Those who talk to each other often discover common goals and new opportunities. Our aim is to reach people with support needs and to jointly create sustainable pathways to vocational training. Everyone benefits from this."
