The SAN-TI martial arts school is among the most successful German teams at the WKU World Championships in Trier.
Darmstadt-Eberstadt. The SAN-TI martial arts school from Darmstadt returned from the WKU World Championships in Trier, Rhineland-Palatinate, with five world championship titles , three silver medals , and twelve bronze medals 2,500 athletes from over 40 nations participated in the international tournament. The team from Eberstadt competed with 14 athletes in the disciplines of Karate Kumite, Pointfighting, Light Contact, Kick Light, Karate Kata , and Freestyle 26th out of 129 clubs in the overall world rankings . This made SAN-TI one of the most successful German teams at the event.
Titles for Waldemar Kunkel, Din Pullmann and Jernellio Inglese
Waldemar Kunkel , Din Pullmann and Jernellio Inglese achieved the greatest success . Kunkel won in the Pointfighting Veterans category (45 years and older, up to 85 kg) , while Pullmann secured the title in Karate Kumite (up to 55 kg) . Due to their strong performances, Pullmann, Inglese, and Tolgahan Karik nominated by the national coaches for the national team competitions. There, Pullmann won two more gold medals with the German Kumite teams in the Junior (13-14 years) and Teen (15-17 years) . Inglese became world champion in the Pointfighting Team Kids category (up to 12 years) , which prevailed against teams from the USA and England.
Silver and bronze for strong team performances
Three silver medals went to Tolgahan Karik ( Karate Kumite Adults up to 90 kg ), Saoussane El Mahjoubi ( Pointfighting Team Teens 15–17 years ) and Jernellio Inglese ( Pointfighting up to 12 years under 45 kg ). Bronze medals were won by, among others, Selina and Waldemar Kunkel , Steven Emmerich , Noah Pullmann , Saoussane El Mahjoubi , Tolgahan Karik and Din Pullmann .
The younger athletes also delivered impressive performances: Sophie Piepenburg (Karate Kata Kids up to 12 years) missed the final by just 0.01 points. Ipell Inglese and Vincent Unger placed among the top ten. Asmin Zengin , Melin Zengin, and Maxim Diebel gained valuable competition experience.
"Our team – from the youngest to the most experienced – presented a technically strong showing, even under international pressure," emphasized SAN-TI Grandmaster Tino Inglese . "We train with passion in Eberstadt, and that was clearly evident in Trier."
International successes and 30 years of martial arts in Darmstadt
The WKU (World Kickboxing and Karate Union), with member associations from over 90 nations, is one of the largest international martial arts organizations. The World Championships in Trier saw the highest participation in its history, with approximately 2,500 competitors. The next WKU World Championships will take place in Abu Dhabi .
The SAN-TI was founded in 1995 by Tino Inglese 30th anniversary this year . Today, around 630 children, teenagers, and adults in the disciplines of karate, taekwondo, jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, Muay Thai, and Krav Maga DEFCON® . The school is certified by the World Kickboxing and Karate Union (WKU) and a member of the Professional Association for Martial Arts .
