Better training through the joint sponsorship of Darmstadt and Darmstadt-Dieburg
Darmstadt. In view of growing challenges in securing skilled workers, the Greens in Darmstadt are calling for close cooperation between the science city and the Darmstadt-Dieburg district. a joint school association for vocational schools can help to make the training of future specialists more efficient, modern and qualitatively higher.
The Hessian School Act (§§ 140 and 143) offers the structural foundations for such a model, which expressly permits inter -municipal sponsorships. The Greens, among other things, name the city of Hanau and the Main-Kinzig-Kreis, which are jointly responsible for two vocational schools. There are also comparable collaborations in Offenbach, Fulda and Kassel.
Take school development planning together
130 million euros in the expansion of the vocational school center north in recent years . Further plans for a Mitte vocational school center are already running. The district of Darmstadt-Dieburg also plans investments, for example for the district administrator Gruber school in Dieburg .
"It is urgently offered that the city and circle act together and not parallel side by side," emphasizes Heiko Depner , spokesman for the Greens. Common school development plans and sponsors could better use the existing resources and ensure the quality of the training.
A shortage of skilled workers also meet vocational schools
Like many other regions, Darmstadt sees itself confronted with an increasing shortage of skilled workers - a trend that, according to forecasts, should continue to tighten until 2040. According to the school development plan, professions in education, social work, IT, administration, chemistry, mechatronics as well as construction and production control many of which are trained at Darmstadt vocational schools.
Secure the quality of training
Attractive vocational schools are a key factor for securing skilled workers, according to the Greens. This requires not only modern learning locations and specialized specialist rooms, but also sufficiently qualified teaching staff.
"We need joint projects with fair financial participation," explains Hildegard Förster-Heldmann , spokeswoman for the Green District Association of Darmstadt. It is not about responsibilities, but about reality: "Many young people from Darmstadt complete their training in companies in the district - and vice versa." A school association can ensure that lesson failures are minimized, investments are bundled and professional classes are organized efficiently.
