Akdeniz: "New equipment strengthens self -confidence at the start of school"
The Kiwanis Club Darmstadt has again carried out its proven schoolble campaign this year and thus facilitates 224 beginners from families from families in the performance. The children received high -quality satchel and suitable equipment - including pencils, gym bags and bread boxes.
"It is very important that children are not disadvantaged for the basic equipment for the beginning of school. That is why I appreciate the campaign that has been taking place for many years to support the participation. With new materials and good equipment, it learns more easily and the children are self -confident with their satchels," emphasizes Mayor and Social Affairs Director Barbara Akdeniz.
The satchels are handed over to children in close cooperation with the urban daycare centers whose parents receive transfer benefits. The necessary money for the purchase of the materials is collected by donations and actions by the Kiwanis Club. The handover took place in a solemn framework with a colorful program in the auditorium of the Luise Büchner School.
"With the campaign, we want to improve children's starting opportunities to everyday school life," explains Kiwanis member Konstanze Fritsch. "The children not only get high -quality equipment, but also experience a nice day - that is remembered."
The Kiwanis Club's school bag campaign is an example of a lived social commitment and a strong signal for educational justice in Darmstadt.
