The city council decides to submit the plan to the Hessian Ministry of Education / Focus on quality, perspectives and challenges until 2030
The city of Darmstadt, a center of science and research, has presented a new school development plan for its vocational schools extending to the year 2030. The city council, in its meeting on May 21, 2025, took note of the final version of the plan and resolved to submit it to the Hessian Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport .
Vocational training with a future
The plan analyzes the current framework , outlines development perspectives , and identifies key challenges for vocational schools in Darmstadt. The goal is to ensure
sustainable and high-quality educational landscape School Superintendent Holger Klötzner emphasizes:
"The plan analyzes the framework, development prospects and challenges of vocational schools. It also outlines a vision for a high-quality vocational education landscape in Darmstadt in the future. Because practical vocational education is anything but a thing of the past."
Public participation process completed
The city council had already adopted the draft school development plan on February 19, 2025, and initiated a public participation process. This took place
February 24 and March 13, 2025. The feedback received by the city's school board did not necessitate any fundamental changes, so the final version will now to the Ministry of Education state school board .
