BüchnerBühne presents Kästner's satire on September 19th and 20th
, Erich Kästner's play "The School for Dictators" returns to the stage of the BüchnerBühne in Riedstadt-Leeheim. The satirical comedy will be performed on Friday, September 19th , and Saturday, September 20th, 2025 , at 7:30 pm at the theater located at Kirchstraße 16.
Kästner, known for his political satire and whose works were burned by the Nazis in 1933, created a timeless parable about power, deception, and rebellion with "The School for Dictators." The play, which premiered in Munich in 1957, is one of the most important anti-totalitarian works in world literature. In a fictional state, a "School for Dictators" repeatedly replaces the murdered ruler with new imitations – until an idealist challenges the system from within.
