Strong performances at the state school competition in Ober-Ramstadt
The Bergstraße school village from Seeheim-Jugenheim successfully participated in the 5th Merck State School Mountain Biking Competition. The event took place on May 5, 2026, in Ober-Ramstadt.
Relay race on a challenging course
A total of 29 schools from all over Hesse participated. Around the MTB course at the sports field, the teams watched the exciting relay races up close.
The course covered approximately 2.5 kilometers and offered numerous challenges with undulating sections and trail segments. The teams from the school village were particularly successful in gaining ground on the flatter sections.
Skill required before the race
Before the actual relay race, the participants had to complete a technical and dexterity course. This included tasks such as driving over pallets and picking up a water bottle from the ground and putting it back down.
The results determined the starting order in the relay race, which started at ten-second intervals.
Extensive supporting program in Ober-Ramstadt
The Georg-Christoph-Lichtenberg School hosted the event. Representatives from politics and the school welcomed the participants. In addition to the competitions, there was a supporting program with live music, a bicycle repair workshop, and refreshments.
Hope for the national finals
The school village was satisfied with the competition day and is now looking ahead to a possible participation in the national final in Nuremberg in September.
