Seven-day trip to the North Sea with excursions to Norderney, Emden and Papenburg – registrations now open
The first senior citizens' trip organized by the town of Riedstadt in 2027 will lead to East Frisia. From May 31st to June 6th, 2027, participants can expect a seven-day trip to the North Sea coast with excursions to various regional attractions. Volunteer organizer Walter Dörr has put together a program that includes visits to Norderney, Emden, and Papenburg, among other places.
The tour group will be accommodated at the four-star Hotel Novum in Hinte. The hotel has a swimming pool and a sauna, the use of which is included in the stay.
Excursions to Norderney, Emden and the Ammerland region
Several day trips are planned during the trip. A tour of Krummhörn will include a visit to Emden, where a city tour is on the agenda. A tea ceremony at the Störtebeker Tea Room in Marienhafe is also planned.
Another excursion takes place in the Ammerland region. There, the participants visit the rhododendron park in Gristede and take a short city tour of Bad Zwischenahn.
One of the highlights of the trip is a visit to the North Sea island of Norderney. After traveling through East Frisia, the group will take a ferry to the island, where an island tour is planned.
A visit to the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg is also on the agenda. After a tour of the shipyard and a lunch break in the city center, the trip continues to Leer. There, participants will explore the historic old town on a walking tour.
No bus excursions are planned for one day. On this day, it is possible to obtain a guest card from the Emden Tourist Information Office, which entitles the holder to one bus trip on a single route.
Six nights with half board
Departure is scheduled for Monday, May 31, 2027, at 7:00 a.m. from the depot in Crumstadt. The journey, including breaks, is expected to take approximately seven and a half hours.
The trip costs €965 per person in a double room. Single occupancy costs €1,175.
The price includes six nights' accommodation with half-board, the bus trip and tour guide, as well as the planned excursions. These include, among other things, the tea ceremony, the ferry crossing and island tour of Norderney, and the visit to the Meyer shipyard. According to the tour operator, tips, parking fees, breakfast packs, additional mileage, and local taxes are also included in the price.
Registration with Walter Dörr
Walter Dörr is accepting registrations for the senior citizens' trip. Rooms will be allocated in the order in which registrations are received.
A preliminary meeting for participants is scheduled for Tuesday, May 18, 2027, at 2:30 p.m. at the Pfälzer Hof in Leeheim.
