Three routes to choose from – Mayor Akdeniz accompanies the participants
hike to the Heinerfest on Friday, July 4, 2025. The meeting point is at 10:30 a.m. at the "Schwarzer Weg" bus stop (on Kranichsteiner Straße, heading into the city). Mayor Barbara Akdeniz personally welcome the participants there.
“Two groups with different route lengths will be offered again, so that all participants can walk at their own pace and enjoy the hike,” explains Mayor Akdeniz.
Three route lengths to suit different needs
The following are offered:
- a short route for wheelchair users and people with walkers (telephone registration required: 06151 13-2872),
- a medium route of 4.5 kilometers ,
- as well as a long route of 7.5 kilometers .
All routes are led by the Darmstadt Senior Sports Club under the direction of Norbert Schmidt, Edmund Meier, and Klaus Hochstätter . Mayor Akdeniz will join the hike and be available for conversation along the way.
Care, refreshments and thanks to the supporters
The Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe (St. John Ambulance) , volunteer helpers, and staff from the Social Services and Counseling Center will accompany the hike. At the finish line in the " Heinergadde " building, owned by the Hausmann company, participants will be treated to a free snack and drinks – an invitation from the City of Darmstadt. The city thanks all the sponsors who made the event possible.
Participation is free. The hike will take place in all weather conditions.
