The city will provide information on the results of the pilot study on June 25th
Riedstadt is one of the pioneers in Hesse when it comes to energy sharing. In cooperation with the Austrian company Nobile and funded by LEA Hessen, a feasibility study conducted that shows ways in which citizens can share unused electricity from private photovoltaic (PV) systems with their neighbors – fairly and affordably.
The focus is on a model in which, for example, surplus solar power from a PV system is not sold to the grid operator for a small fee as before, but is passed on directly to neighbors at a better price. Conversely, households could purchase locally generated electricity at a lower rate than from the traditional electricity supplier.
The city invites you to a free online workshop on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 6 p.m. The results of the study will be presented and questions answered. The participation link is available on the city's platform.
