Review, outlook and new elections at the Weiterstadt Civic Center
At the senior citizens' meeting on March 26, 2025, in the Weiterstadt community center, around 45 guests gathered to review the past legislative period and discuss new projects for the older generation. The event was opened by Helge Morche, chairman of the senior citizens' meeting, and Mayor Ralf Möller.
Looking back at successful projects
Dieter Veith , chairman of the senior citizens' advisory board, presented the highlights of the past years: numerous events, social gatherings, information sessions, and excursions had strengthened the sense of community among senior citizens in Weiterstadt. Particularly welcome news: the popular trips to the thermal baths are to be offered again after a long hiatus.
Office for Diversity and Community Care presented
The meeting also included the Office for Diversity and Participation . This new contact point is intended to support citizens with questions regarding integration, inclusion, and social services.
Community care worker Stephanie Wilferth also introduced herself. She will be available in the future to provide personal advice, referrals to care services, and support in daily life – an important contribution to the social care of elderly people in Weiterstadt.
New senior citizens' advisory board elected unanimously
Finally, the re-election of the Senior Citizens' Advisory Council on the agenda. All proposed candidates were elected unanimously . The new council will represent the interests of the older generation and work closely with the city administration to further develop services for senior citizens.
