New striker brings pace, depth and experience from the 3rd division
SV Darmstadt 98 have Serhat-Semih Güler . The 27-year-old striker signed a contract at the Böllenfalltor stadium after passing his medical. Last season, Güler played for third-division side Viktoria Köln, where he scored 14 goals in 36 league appearances . He also contributed four assists and six scorer points in the Middle Rhine Cup .
“Serhat-Semih Güler’s profile expands our options and will make our game even more multifaceted,” explains Paul Fernie , Sporting Director of SV 98. “He brings pace, depth, intensity, and qualities as a substitute. He is very committed in pressing and puts the opposing defense under early pressure. We are convinced that his style of play is a good fit for Darmstadt.”
Güler himself is also highly motivated: "I'm eager to prove myself in the 2nd division. Darmstadt is a great club with an exciting development. I've always perceived the club as having a family atmosphere and being focused on growth. Now I want to repay the trust placed in me by those in charge and represent the Lilies with dignity."
Güler received his youth training at clubs including Bayer Leverkusen and Fortuna Düsseldorf . At the senior level, he played for SpVgg Burgbrohl, Fortuna Köln, ZFC Meuselwitz, Bonner SC, Wuppertaler SV, Hansa Rostock , and TSV 1860 München . In the first half of the 2023/24 season, he made ten appearances in the second division for Hansa Rostock before transferring to 1860 München in January 2024 and subsequently to Viktoria Köln.
