The triathlon division of SG Arheilgen will have five teams at the start
The triathlon division of SG Arheilgen has made a successful start to the 2026 season. At the Mörfelden relay marathon on Sunday, January 18th, the team fielded five relay teams. A total of 25 athletes participated, including nine women.
The external conditions were nearly ideal. With dry weather, little wind, and mostly good running surfaces, all relay teams were able to consistently perform at their best. In addition to an all-female team and an all-male team, three mixed relay teams competed for SG Arheilgen.
Podium finishes for women's, mixed and age group teams
The women's team, consisting of Barbara Vierling, Frauke Ostermann, Simone Barabas, and Angelika Scholz, achieved second place in the over-200 age group with a time of 3:35:10. The men's team, with Anselm Schüle, Axel Reinhardt, Christian Della Libera, and Moritz Mattern, finished in 3:08:20.
Mixed relay team 1, consisting of Henri Lassig, Anke Werner, Marina Lefort, and Rainer Kappes, was particularly successful. With a finishing time of 3:03:04, the team took third place in the mixed category. Mixed relay team 2, with Eva Riedel, Michael Ostermann, Beatrix Wiesler, and Marcus Ortland, crossed the finish line after 3:40:46.
In the over-200 age group, the "Falsche Fuffziger" team, consisting of Guido Götz, Conny Thiele, and Bernd Eisele, also impressed. With a time of 3:24:55, the relay team also secured second place in their category. Conny Thiele completed two consecutive running legs.
Optimistic outlook for the 2026 season
All athletes were satisfied with their performances. Their successful showing at the Mörfelden relay marathon is considered a promising start to the upcoming 2026 competition season.
