Senior league, Kerbelauf and half marathon bring podium finishes for SG Arheilgen
The athletes of SG Arheilgen have just completed an intense weekend of competition. On Sunday (August 24th), four men from the triathlon division competed in the Senior League in Viernheim, along with two individual athletes. On Saturday, the SGA team had already achieved success at the Kerbelauf race in Wixhausen, and a new personal best time was set in Florstadt.
Successful performance in Viernheim
The second senior league race in Viernheim took place in a cool 9 degrees Celsius – the 1.5-kilometer swim had to be completed without wetsuits, however, as the water was nearly 24 degrees. On the notoriously challenging bike course, with its 450 meters of elevation gain and an 18 percent gradient up to the Juhöhe hill, the SGA athletes delivered strong performances.
- Anselm Schüle (M40) finished third overall and second in his age group in 2:31:16 hours.
- Guido Götz (M50) reached the finish line after 2:42:15 hours.
- Torsten Velde (M60) followed in 2:56:22 hours.
- Karsten Herisch (M55) finished the competition after 3:02:31 hours.
The senior team finished in fourth place.
Among the individual competitors, Ulrike Bickert (W50) her age group in 3:19:25 hours. Lukas Beckmann (M30) crossed the finish line in 2:58:57 hours and was particularly pleased with his performance.
Podium finishes at the Wixhausen Kerbelauf
The next successes were achieved on Saturday (August 23rd):
- Daniela Teske (W50) won her age group over 4 kilometers (18:43 min.) and finished second overall.
- Philemon Stein (MJU20) also won his age group in 18:48 minutes.
Best time in Florstadt
At the Florstadt Half Marathon (also on August 23rd/24th), Eva Riedel the 5 kilometers in 24:33 minutes , setting a new personal best. She finished second in the W40 age group.
