According to the party, Darmstadt-Dieburg receives too little funding
The Green Party (Alliance 90/The Greens) criticizes the distribution of funding for social housing in Hesse. According to the party, several million euros are lacking in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district for planned social housing projects.
Lack of funding commitments for housing construction
According to the Greens, a total of 1,406 social housing units could not be built in Hesse in 2025 because funding commitments failed to materialize.
Funding of €131.1 million was requested for Darmstadt-Dieburg. However, only around €125 million was approved. The party therefore speaks of an unfair and opaque distribution of the funds.
Criticism of the state government
Torsten Leveringhaus, the member of the state parliament responsible for Darmstadt-Dieburg, explains: “In the Darmstadt-Dieburg district, people are also desperately searching for subsidized housing.”
The state government is letting the region down when it comes to housing promotion, while other districts are having their funding requests fully met.
Parliamentary inquiry published
In this context, the Greens refer to a parliamentary inquiry in the Hessian State Parliament:
