When the deer sees red: the color green between nature and perception
In June, the Kranichstein hunting lodge offers a varied program for those interested in culture who want to learn more about hunting history, color perception and the role of "green". Two themed tours through the current special exhibition "When the deer sees red - the hunters and their green" as well as a lead specially designed for families provide exciting insights into historical and biological relationships.
When the deer sees red: the color green between nature and perception
Why is hunting traditionally connected to the color green? What function has camouflage? And does the deer really see red? These and other questions are answered at the special exhibition in the Museum of the Kranichstein hunting lodge. The exhibition illuminates, among other things, the development of hunting clothing, the color perception of wild animals and the symbolic meaning of green in the home culture of the 19th century.
