Pop-up furniture and plants will be used as a pilot project until July 9th
, a new pilot project for street furniture is taking place on Schuchardstraße . At the initiative of Darmstadt's city marketing department, elements of a pop-up summer garden have been temporarily installed there – including ten planters with serviceberry trees and eight colorful summer chairs. The aim is to make the street greener and more inviting.
Initial feedback from the public is welcome
The project runs from June 27th to July 9th, 2025. Colorful pennant chains have also been hung in the street. "We want to test how this street furniture is received on Schuchardstrasse and whether the individual locations are suitable," explains City Manager Anke Jansen .

Initial trials with street furniture on Schuchardstraße last year revealed limited possibilities due to the narrow street width. Instead, the furniture was permanently installed on Luisenstraße and Elisabethenstraße – with positive feedback.
Participation expressly desired
The city marketing department has informed all adjacent businesses about the project in writing and requested feedback. Opportunities for participation are also being promoted on street furniture and online – including via QR codes for digital feedback . Feedback can also be submitted by email:

After the project ends, the collected feedback will be evaluated to decide whether and how permanent furnishing of Schuchardstrasse can be implemented.
