Kolmer: "Late summer becomes an adventure for children"
The city of Darmstadt, a center of science and research, will complete work on the playground at Steinbrücker Teich . Children can then look forward to a new slide tower , after the old play equipment had to be closed for safety reasons.
“The colleagues in the Parks Department successfully scoured the landscape of playground equipment suppliers and found a supplier who offered a similar piece of equipment into which the existing slide could be integrated,” explains Parks Department Head Michael Kolmer .
The new tower was positioned slightly offset to make room for landscaping. This landscaping is intended to allow for the integration of the old slide with its inclusion features, which will be installed by the end of the year.
The new play structure is made of robust robinia wood and offers various climbing options – from ramps and a climbing net to a balance beam. The large tube slide from the old structure has been integrated into the new design.
Kolmer emphasizes:
“We would have liked to open the slide tower for the summer holidays, but the availability of supplies and delivery times prevented this. I am all the more pleased that the upcoming late summer season will once again be a great experience for children at Steinbrücker Teich. The use of robinia wood and the creative reuse of the existing slide underscore our commitment to sustainability and quality.”
