Autobahn GmbH warns of long traffic jams of A3, A5, A7, A8 and A9 from July 26th
As the federal government reports, the hot phase of summer travel traffic is imminent. With the start of the summer holidays in all federal states from the end of July, a very increased traffic volume on the German motorways will be expected in the next two weeks.
First Berlin, Brandenburg and Hamburg begin with the school-free time, followed by Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Schleswig-Holstein. From July 31, Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria will also start the summer holidays-travel will peak nationwide.
First wave of travel from the north from July 26th
Autobahn GmbH assumes that the traffic will remain comparatively moderate on Thursday, July 24th. The first large wave of travel from the north and northeast of Germany is expected for Saturday, July 26th . Also on Sunday, July 27th , there is to be expected on many routes.

The situation is particularly critical where travel traffic from southern Germany overlaps with the first waves of return to northern Germany - especially on the A3, A5, A7, A8 and A9 .
