Reinheim Youth Forum designs new meeting place
A new meeting place for young people has opened at the Georgenhausen leisure center: a sunbathing island on the small lake, inviting them to linger. The idea originated during a joint bike tour by Mayor Manuel Feick and members of the Reinheim Youth Forum, during which they visited various playgrounds and sports fields in the town.
Possible improvements and new offerings were discussed on site. During this discussion, the suggestion arose to install a lounge bench in the leisure center.
Planning in cooperation with the building yard and youth services
The youth forum then developed a concrete plan for the design and location of the sunbathing area. Together with employees of the municipal works department and the youth services, the final location was determined.
The sunbathing island has been located by the small lake for some time now and offers young people from Georgenhausen and Zeilhard in particular an additional opportunity for relaxation and exchange.
Mayor Manuel Feick emphasizes that the project once again implemented a proposal from the youth forum. The goal from the outset was to take young people's ideas seriously and, where possible, to realize them together.
