Peaceful action on July 13th in the parking lot in front of the media ship
Under the motto "For Human Dignity and Diversity," the local alliance " Wir in Weiterstadt calling for participation in a peaceful counter-demonstration on Sunday, July 13, 2025. The reason for the demonstration is a recently announced gathering of so-called "Reichsbürger" (Citizens of the Reich), which is also scheduled to take place in the town on that day.
The counter-demonstration begins at 12:45 pm in the parking lot in front of the media ship at Darmstädter Straße 40. To send a clear message against extremism, exclusion, and anti-democratic tendencies, the event will be deliberately quiet – without lengthy speeches. Instead, the silent but clear presence of the participants will send a unified signal of social cohesion.
As a symbolic gesture of openness and diversity, colorful, helium-filled balloons will rise into the sky.
The event is open to everyone who wants to support a democratic and tolerant society. Prior registration is not required.
Note: The parking lot in front of the media ship will be closed to traffic from Saturday, July 12th, 1:30 pm (after the weekly market) until Sunday evening, 7:00 pm.
