Construction site signage is intended to improve traffic flow
On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, the construction site signage at the intersection of Rheinstraße – Am Kavalleriesand – Zweifalltorweg will be extended. This will create an additional driving option from Am Kavalleriesand northwards into Zweifalltorweg.
Further relief for diverted traffic
Head of Transport Paul Georg Wandrey describes the adjustment as a further improvement to the current traffic management.
The one-way ring road currently serves as the central diversion route for motorized traffic. Inbound, the route leads via Deutsche-Telekom-Allee and the Hilpertstraße bridge. Outbound, it runs via Berliner Allee, Haardtring, and the Stirnweg bridge to the street "Am Kavalleriesand" and, in the future, additionally into Zweifalltorweg.
Marking work will start in advance
Even before the actual reconstruction begins, marking work will commence in the area of the junction, along with adjustments to the construction site safety measures.
According to the city, the costs for planning and implementing the expanded construction site traffic light system amount to around 26,000 euros.
