Five trees must be felled between June 2 and 6 - replacement is provided
To maintain traffic safety, tree felling work is necessary June 2, 2025 This is announced by the science city of Darmstadt.
As GREEN ARE CEO Michael Kolmer explains, five heavily damaged trees were identified as part of routine checks, the stability of which is no longer available: two trees have already died, a third shows significant symptoms. In addition, two larger horse chestnuts suffer from the bacterial complex disease "horse chestnut death", which has caused serious damage in the root area - despite the vital crowns.
"The check of the tree population is also of great importance here in order not to endanger people through falling branches or falling tribes," emphasizes Kolmer. The felling is therefore essential for reasons of traffic safety.
The work is carried out by a specialist company. The city assures that replacement plantings will be carried out at the next possible time in order to protect the ecological balance in the area of the highly frequented path.
