Hanno Benz congratulates the three Rhine-Main universities on their success
The Technical University of Darmstadt, together with its partner universities in Frankfurt am Main and Mainz, has been recognized as an Excellence Cluster in the German Excellence Initiative. Darmstadt's Mayor Hanno Benz congratulated the three Rhine-Main universities on their success.
“The recognition of the three Rhine-Main universities as a Cluster of Excellence is a special acknowledgment of the performance and innovative strength of the participating universities and underscores the potential that exists in collaboration within the region,” explains Benz. This award will enable the three locations to further strengthen their performance and innovative capacity and expand the framework for cutting-edge research.
Benz thanks those involved in the application
The mayor thanked everyone involved in initiating the application and developing and implementing the joint strategy. He particularly commended the president of TU Darmstadt, Prof. Dr. Tanja Brühl.
Benz also sees the award as an added value for Darmstadt. As a city of science, Darmstadt benefits in a special way from a strong and internationally visible TU Darmstadt.
"The close networking of science, business, and the city strengthens the location and its innovative capacity," the mayor emphasized. The connection between science, business, and society, which is to be further expanded within the Excellence Network, is of particular value to the city.
