Young athletes cover impressive distance in running challenge
The athletics department of TV Seeheim achieved impressive results with a special running challenge. A total of 27 children and teenagers from the U10 to U18 age groups covered a combined distance of 912 kilometers – the virtual distance from Seeheim-Jugenheim to Birmingham, the venue for this year's European Athletics Championships.
A collaborative effort in just 20 days
Within just 20 days, the young athletes racked up kilometer after kilometer. The route symbolically led through four countries and across the English Channel – but it was completed with genuine running performance.
Exciting duel for first place
The competition for the most kilometers run provided particular excitement. Lotta Strauß and Kerstin Hansmann were locked in a close race right up to the last day.
In the end, Lotta Strauß won with an impressive 105 kilometers. Kerstin Hansmann, despite a break due to illness, achieved a strong 97 kilometers and took second place. Third place went to Léo Reuter from the U12 category with 84 kilometers.
