Yard and garden flea market on August 23rd with many stalls and a neighborhood atmosphere
DARMSTADT – For the fifth time, the Waldkolonie district, along with parts of the Weststadt neighborhood, will be transformed into a colorful paradise for bargain hunters and treasure seekers: The popular "Waldfloh" celebrates its fifth anniversary on Saturday, August 23, 2025. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., residents will open their yards, gardens, and garages, inviting visitors to browse, haggle, and chat.
From neighborhood project to district highlight
Originating as a neighborhood initiative during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Waldfloh (Forest Flea) has become a regular fixture in Darmstadt's district calendar. Under the motto " Experience Neighborhood, Discover Treasures," it offers not only books, clothing, toys, and curiosities, but also the opportunity to get to know the Waldkolonie (Forest Colony) from its vibrant side.
“The Waldfloh is more than a flea market – it’s a neighborhood festival,” emphasize organizers Renée Escosura and Matthias Lohrum . “Especially in this anniversary year, we are particularly looking forward to welcoming many guests from Darmstadt and the surrounding area.”
