Spring awakening, democracy projects, family offers and flea market at the forest center
is also a lot going on in the so-called "non-forest art year" on the forest art path at the Böllenfall goal. The Association for International Waldkunst e. V. starts the new season on May 1, 2025 with traditional spring awakening and presents numerous projects related to art, nature and democracy.
In addition to tours and hands -on offers for families, democratic art projects , international cooperation , educational programs and forest art flea markets on the program. An overview of all dates and details can be found on the club website: www.waldkunst.com .
Season start on May 1st: Spring awakening in the forest
The start of this year's forest art season will take place Wednesday, May 1st , from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The team of the forest art association invites you to "awakening spring" with coffee, cake and short tours through the forest at the Böllenfall goal. The meeting point is the information tent at the first intersection behind the forest car park. In addition, the children's construction car open - a creative interactive offer for families.
Democracy meets art: project "Democratic Forest"
A highlight of the year is the "Democratic Forest Reader" , which was created World Design Capital 2026 From June 17th to 26th, 50 international project ideas on the topic of "democratic forest" will be exhibited in the International Forest Art Center (IWZ) at Ludwigshöhstraße 137. Performances, readings and a "forest pulpit" belong to the program as well as the participation of the Frankfurt Theater Antagon on June 26 with the play "Trees" .
Waldkunst along the modau
With the new Modauaukunstpfad , the club dares another pilot project. In Eberstadt, the first works of art along the moda bank will be realized from September - long -term destination is an art path along the entire modau.
International art project GNAP in September
The International Art Symposium Gnap (Global Nomadic Art Project) from September 15th to 27th . 20 artists work at various locations in South Hesse - for example at the Messel pit or in the Geozentrum - and present their results in an exhibition at the forest center. Two Wednesday forums accompany the project.
Family offers in the forest
- Children's construction car: from May 4th to September 28th , Sundays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. (except June 8).
- Environmental diploma courses: Registration of the environmental office (Tel. 06151 13-3280)
- Children's art camp in July: already fully booked.
All offers are free of charge, donations are welcome.
Flea market in May
A popular classic is the forest art flea market on the site of the IWZ (opposite academy for sound art):
- Date: Thursday, May 15th , to Sunday, May 18th
- Opening times: Thu - Sat: 10 am to 6pm, Sun: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- Post -sale: until May 30th at the opening times of the IWZ
(Mon - DO 9 am – 3pm, Fri 9 am to 2 p.m.)
Books, jewelry, toys, art, household items and much more are available. Donations in kind can be submitted during opening hours.
Guided tours and information
- Site plan with artist portraits: 3 euros , available in the IWZ or in the Darmstadt-Shop on Luisenplatz
- Guided tours: Short tours on May 1st (2 p.m. & 3 p.m.), private tours bookable at 06151 789 95 37 or info@waldkunst.com
- Catalog for the last Biennale: 15 euros
