Emergency supply with fresh water pipes in Eulerweg and the airport road set up
In the night of Monday (April 29) there was a large water pipe break in Griesheim in the area of the high -rise buildings on Eulerweg and on the airport road. According to the municipal utility, around 1,000 people are affected by the interrupted water supply. The exact location of the breakage is still unclear.
Stadtwerke emergency services have been in use since 1 a.m. to ensure the emergency supply of drinking water. Two tapstations for fresh water are now available to those with the resident - one in the Eulerweg in front of house number 22 , the other in airport road in front of house number 1a .
"The top priority is now to ensure the care of the residents with water," explains Klaus Nothhnagel, head of the municipal utility. Due to an unusually high water pressure of up to 10 bar - well above the urban average of 4.5 to 5.5 bar - it cannot be ruled out that there are several line breaks.
The municipal utilities expressly ask all those living to observe barriers , since parts of the paths in the affected area could be unstable by under -flushing.
Background: The affected water pipes date from 1974/75 and were laid in the course of the high -rise building by the then building owner. After completion, the lines were handed over to the city of Griesheim.
