Lectures, guided tours and hands-on activities from 2 pm to 6:30 pm
To mark World Cancer Day, the Oncology Center at Darmstadt Hospital you to a comprehensive event on Tuesday, February 3rd 2 pm and 6:30 pm, visitors can expect a diverse program including lectures, tours, workshops, and information sessions on all aspects of cancer.
Planned activities include guided tours of the endoscopy and radiation therapy departments , expert lectures on various oncological topics, and a walk-through model of the stomach that provides insights into medical processes. The program is complemented by workshops, such as one on resilience , and various preventative care options.
Early detection is also a key focus. For example, doctors from the dermatology clinic offer the "Check the Spot" . In addition, several information booths provide information about support services and current developments in cancer medicine.
For some program items, prior registration is required. This includes the DKMS cosmetic seminars , where trained experts demonstrate how to cosmetically mitigate the external effects of cancer therapy. The diagnosis and treatment of cancer is one of the central focuses of the Darmstadt Clinic.
