Dotter concert with music from four decades
To mark the 80th anniversary of the end of the war, the Dotter Foundation a compelling concert program that reflects the turbulent history of the 20th century through music.
The focus is on works by Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Paul Hindemith, Viktor Ullmann, and Mieczysław Weinberg – four composers whose fates and works reflect the dramatic upheavals of their time. The music spans from the pre-war period through the Roaring Twenties to compositions created after the Nazis seized power and ultimately leading to the "zero hour" after 1945.
trio Delyria and Çagla Gürsoy will perform on stage . Actress Gabriele Drechsel , a member of the ensemble at the Darmstadt Theatre , will complement the music with readings of texts and poems by authors including Stefan Zweig, Ernst Jandl, Walter Mehring, Erich Kästner, and Mascha Kaléko .
Advance ticket sales for the 68th Dotter concert are now underway. All are cordially invited to the Ernst-Ludwig-Saal in Darmstadt-Eberstadt Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. A free introductory talk place at 5:30 p.m.
During the concert, donations will be collected for a 3D cross-sectional model of the Eberstadt Synagogue , which will be implemented in a virtual reconstruction by the Technical University of Darmstadt .
