The kick-off event on November 13th in Rüsselsheim invites young people aged 14 and over to develop their own ideas for climate protection and sustainability
With the "Young Climate Alliance" project, the Groß-Gerau district youth services aim to involve young people more actively in shaping a sustainable future. Young people aged 14 and over are invited to contribute their own ideas on climate protection, the environment, and sustainability, and to develop projects together.
kick-off event will take place on Friday, November 13, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Rollwerk Rüsselsheim. Participation is free.
Young people should develop their own projects
The Young Climate Alliance aims to give young people from the Groß-Gerau district the opportunity to engage with climate protection issues and to become active themselves.
The focus is not on predetermined measures, but on the ideas and interests of the young people. They should decide together which topics they want to address and which actions they want to implement.
Possible focus areas include climate protection in everyday life, sustainable mobility, nutrition, energy, nature and species conservation, and waste prevention.
The district youth services department aims to create a framework in which young people can contribute their perspectives, network with like-minded individuals and develop their own projects.
Workshops and hands-on activities to kick things off
The project will be presented at the kick-off event on November 13th. Afterwards, participants can gather initial ideas and engage in discussions at workshops and interactive stations.
In addition to the substantive work, there will also be plenty of time for everyone to get to know each other. Snacks and drinks will be provided. A DJ set is planned to conclude the evening.
The event is expressly aimed at young people who have not yet dealt with climate protection projects, but are interested in actively shaping their future.
The state of Hesse supports the project
The project “Young Climate Alliance for the Groß-Gerau district” is funded by the Hessian action program “Youth Makes Politics – Enabling Participation” .
The initiative aims to strengthen the participation of young people in social issues. The Young Climate Alliance offers them the opportunity to develop their own ideas and to initiate concrete actions together with other young people.
