RP Darmstadt and the Hessian Consumer Center warn against unsafe online offers
Darmstadt. When the peak season for online shopping begins with Black Friday , Cyber Monday , and the Christmas season, numerous discount offers beckon – and with them, risks. The Hessian Consumer Center and the market monitoring department of the Darmstadt Regional Council (RP) will provide information about the typical pitfalls of online shopping in a free online presentation entitled "Your Click, Your Risk" on Tuesday, October 29, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.
Not every supposed bargain is safe: Products with harmful ingredients, defective CE markings, or missing warning labels are increasingly finding their way into German households via online platforms. Missing instructions for use or suspiciously low prices can be early warning signs.
In their presentation, Olesja Jäger from the Hessian Consumer Center and Michael Schäfer from the Darmstadt Regional Council explain, using concrete examples, how consumers can recognize unsafe products and protect themselves from fake shops . They also explain what to do if a dangerous product has already been purchased.
Participation is free. You can register via the website of the Hessian Consumer Center: 👉 www.verbraucherzentrale-hessen.de/dein-klick-dein-risiko
Background: The market surveillance department of the Darmstadt Regional Council regularly monitors technical products and chemicals on the market.
