Cooperation between family center and zoo begins with workshops and guided tours for children
Vivarium Zoo, is now offering new courses for families with preschool and primary school children . The family center , together with the zoo, has developed a diverse program that combines education, leisure, and nature experiences.
Workshops on species conservation, pets and wild birds
In child-friendly workshops and themed tours, children learn, for example, how to protect wild birds, what an aquarium needs, or how zoos contribute to species conservation. The events take place in the Vivarium's zoo school and are led by experienced experts.
Following the guided tours, families can explore the zoo individually, observe animals and use the play and rest areas.
City emphasizes educational value of the new offerings
Mayor Barbara Akdeniz is delighted about the cooperation:
“The new collaboration offers families the opportunity to delve deeper into the animal world and to enhance their zoo visit with exciting learning opportunities.”
City treasurer André Schellenberg adds:
“The zoo, as a place for leisure and recreation, also makes a valuable contribution to education. In age-appropriate workshops, children learn more about biology and species conservation.”
