Anniversary celebration honors three decades of voluntary commitment
The association for the preservation of the Jugenheim swimming pool celebrated its 30th anniversary on Saturday, June 20th. Numerous members and invited guests gathered at the swimming pool kiosk in Seeheim-Jugenheim to look back on three decades of successful commitment to the Jugenheim outdoor pool.
Volunteering as the basis for preserving the outdoor swimming pool
In his celebratory speech, club chairman Jürgen Pfliegensdörfer looked back on the most important milestones of the past 30 years. He emphasized that the Jugenheim swimming pool would not exist in its current form without the dedication of the many volunteers. Referring to the nationwide decline in the number of swimming pools, he highlighted the importance of close cooperation with the municipality for the long-term preservation and further development of the outdoor pool.
Thanks from politicians and the community
Mayor Birgit Kannegießer, council chairman Max Panhans, and state parliament member Torsten Leveringhaus also praised the association's work in their welcoming remarks and thanked the members for their many years of dedication. Guests also included Samuel Foschum and Ralph Konrad.
Following the welcoming remarks, the founding members of the association were honored. Thirty years ago, they had played a crucial role in establishing the association, thus laying the foundation for the long-term preservation of the Jugenheim swimming pool.
A relaxing end to the day with an evening swim
After the official part of the celebration, the anniversary festivities continued with food and drinks from the swimming pool kiosk in a convivial atmosphere. Many members also took the opportunity to swim in the outdoor pool until 10 p.m. in the summery temperatures. Pool supervision was provided throughout the event.
The anniversary celebration once again made clear the high value that the association for the preservation of the Jugenheim swimming pool and the outdoor swimming pool have for social life in Seeheim-Jugenheim.
