No cable control in 2025-BTI tablets available free of charge in the town house
In the urban area of Groß-Gerau, especially in the city center, the Asian tiger mosquito (Aedes Albopictus) was detected. The invasive mosquito type is considered particularly aggressive and can transmit viruses such as Dengue, Zika, Chikungunya or Westnil under certain conditions. Dogs can also be affected - for example by threadworms that trigger the levy disease.
The city administration of Groß-Gerau therefore calls for active help to prevent spread. In the current season, there is no direct control by the municipal campaign community to combat the schnaken plague (KABS E. V.) on private property.
Free BTI tablets available in the town house
It is all the more important to act independently of the citizens. The city provides BTI tablets free of charge-a biological active ingredient that is harmless for humans and animals. The tablets can be picked up at the information switch in the town house (Am Marktplatz 1). The city's website and KABS e. V.
Effective measures for containment
The following measures should be observed between April and October:
- Avoid standing water in rain barrels, watering cans, coasters, bird drinks, rain gutters or hollow fence piles
- Empty water tanks at least once a week
- Cover open containers, e.g. B. with a fine -meshed network
- Treat non -avoidable water points every 14 days with BTI
Why caution is advised
The Asian tiger mosquito originally comes from Southeast Asia and has spread worldwide. Mild winter, as they increasingly also occur in South Hesse, favor their settlement. Although no pathogens in the region are currently proven, but there is always the risk of transmission from infected travel return.
The city of Groß-Gerau appeals to all citizens to actively participate. Together, a permanent settlement of the mosquito can be prevented.
