Benefit concert in Reinheim's city park reaches fundraising goal
A benefit concert in Reinheim's city park €10,000 for the Sternenkinderzentrum Odenwald e.V. (Odenwald Star Children's Center) . Numerous visitors braved the sweltering summer heat to support the organization's work. The event was organized by Jan Buhmann with the support of numerous clubs, businesses, and individuals.
The bands Rock'n Rindsworscht and F(r)eier Fall provided the musical entertainment , both of whom waived their fees for their performance. The other volunteers also supported the event on a voluntary basis.
For children, there was a bouncy castle provided by the Spachbrück youth fire brigade and glitter tattoos offered by FrauenFreiRäume. Ice cream from Ueberau was also available.
Donation goal of 10,000 euros reached
At the very beginning of the concert, organizer Jan Buhmann had set an ambitious goal: to raise €10,000 for the Sternenkinderzentrum Odenwald (Odenwald Star Children's Center). By the end of the evening, this sum had indeed been reached.
The Sternenkinderzentrum (Star Children's Center) accompanies and supports families who have experienced the loss of a child. Donations will help to continue this work.
Helga Schmidtke, former chairwoman of the Sternenkinderzentrum Odenwald (Odenwald Star Children's Center), expressed her gratitude for the commitment at the beginning of the event. At that point, the final donation amount was not yet known. "The donation helps us to continue our important work and support affected families," said Schmidtke.
Donation check will be presented at the Reinheim tent fair
The official presentation of the donation check is scheduled for Friday, September 11, 2026, at approximately 7:30 p.m. It will take place at the opening of the Reinheim tent fair in the city park, at the same location where the benefit concert was held.
Organizer Jan Buhmann, who is among other things chairman of SG Ueberau and is also involved with the fire brigade and in the Reinheimer Zeltkerb eV, was impressed by the response.
“It was an evening that touched me deeply emotionally and at the same time was simply a great party. Seeing how many people are committed to a good cause and working together to achieve something made me very happy,” said Buhmann.
He expressed his gratitude to both bands as well as to the participating clubs, companies, friends, and individuals. "Without the many people who supported me in the preparation and execution, this event would not have been possible."
