Children and adolescents get to know the technology of their bike in a practical way
On Wednesday, April 30th, the neighborhood park in the Lincoln settlement will be transformed again from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. into a repair workshop especially for children's and youth bikes.
The aim of the campaign is to make the children's bicycles again and to promote motor and social skills at the same time. Under guidance, the young participants receive practical insights: from changing a chain to patching a tire to patching the brakes.
"The bicycle repair campaign days impressively show how low-threshold offers contribute to the promotion of sustainable mobility and strengthen both the independence and the coexistence of children and young people," emphasizes Mobility Director Paul Georg Wandrey.
The event takes place as part of the “Sustainable Mobility in Lincoln 3” project, which is supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as part of the “Mobility Werkstadt 2025” funding measure.
