Children and young people learn about the technology of their bicycles in a practical way
On Wednesday, April 30th, the neighborhood park in the Lincoln settlement will once again be transformed into a repair workshop specifically for children's and youth bicycles from 3:30 pm to 6 pm.
The aim of the initiative is to make children's bicycles roadworthy again while simultaneously promoting their motor and social skills. Under guidance, the young participants gain practical experience: from changing a chain and patching a tire to adjusting the brakes.
“The bicycle repair action days impressively demonstrate how low-threshold offers contribute to the promotion of sustainable mobility and strengthen both the independence and the togetherness of children and young people,” emphasizes mobility officer Paul Georg Wandrey.
The event is taking place as part of the project “Sustainable Mobility in Lincoln 3”, which is supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as part of the funding measure “Mobility Workshop 2025”.
