The city offers free training in cooperation with Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences
Following the successful project of the Citizen Solar Consultants, the city of Büchner wants to transfer the model to energy-efficient building renovations. To this end, the city is seeking volunteer citizen renovation guides who will provide neighborhood support on all aspects of renovation.
“The concept is a huge success! Now we would like to apply the idea to the energy-efficient renovation of buildings – because there is both enormous potential for savings and great uncertainty here,” emphasizes Mayor Marcus Kretschmann.
Until now, renovation manager Bernhard Krick has been offering free consultations in Riedstadt, but the high demand exceeds his capacity. "We don't want to replace the work of professional energy consultants, but rather complement it," explains Krick. "Many people first need a starting point: What options are available? Where are subsidies available? And when is expert guidance necessary? Neighborhood support can make a big difference here."
Training in cooperation with Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences
To prepare future renovation advisors, the city of Riedstadt, in cooperation with Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, is offering free training. Interested individuals participate in seminars led by Professor Krick, alongside students. Support is also provided by the Ried Energy Community (EGR) and the Citizen Solar Advisors.
“We are happy to support civic engagement in climate protection and are pleased about the reinforcement,” emphasize Manfred Keller (EGR) and Michel Klosterhalfen (Citizen Solar Consultant).
