Main branch and branch libraries with new hours – bookmobile on hiatus until August 19th
During the summer holidays from July 7th to August 15th, 2025, the Darmstadt City Library modified opening hours. This affects both the main branch in the Justus Liebig House and the branch libraries . The bookmobile will be undergoing maintenance during this period.
New opening hours from July 14th
Regular opening hours will remain in effect during the first week of the school holidays (July 7th to 12th). From Monday, July 14th , the following holiday hours will apply:
- Main office (Justus Liebig House):
Tuesday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.,
Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Kranichstein branch library:
Tuesday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. - Eberstadt branch library:

The bookmobile will be on hiatus until August 19th
The bookmobile will be out of service for the entire holiday period. This time will be used for maintenance and cleaning . The bus will resume its regular schedule on August 19th, returns to the bookmobile are not necessary during the break .
Digital services available around the clock
Regardless of opening hours, the digital services of the city library – including e-books, audiobooks and online newspapers – remain available around the clock
