Volkshochschule Darmstadt promotes career entry through learning tandems
The Volkshochschule Darmstadt has been offering a preparatory course for the external secondary school leaving certificate for many years. In three weekly evening courses, the participants are prepared for the exam in the subjects in mathematics, German, natural and social sciences. Now the program receives additional support from the Darmstadt community.
Promotion for successful completion
Since the beginning of the year and May 2025, the Darmstadt community foundation has been supporting the “learning tandem” project. This innovative concept is intended to specifically promote young adults without graduation and prepare them for their secondary school leaving certificate. Educational Director Holger Klötzner emphasizes the importance of the project: “The secondary school leaving certificate is a crucial first step for starting the professional world. It opens up a variety of opportunities for training and lies the foundation for a successful professional future. ”
Accompaniment by learning tandems
The project is aimed at people who have not yet been able to graduate from school. The learning tandems not only receive professional support, but also help with self -organization and motivation. “Education is the key to social participation and personal success. With the learning tandems we would like to offer the participants valuable support in order to develop their individual potential as best as possible, ”explains Dr. Markus Hoschek, CEO of the Darmstadt community foundation.
