Three-day anniversary celebration with ceremony, music, awards and church service
DJK Concordia Pfungstadt celebrated its 75th anniversary from August 14th to 16th, 2026. The anniversary weekend in Pfungstadt began on Friday with a ceremony in the historic town hall and continued on Saturday and Sunday with music, activities, and a church service.
Representatives from politics, sports, and associations attended the ceremony. Guests included Monika Kaiser, President of the DJK State Association of Hesse; Wolfgang Gondolf, Honorary Chairman of the DJK Diocesan Association of Mainz; Heike Hofmann, Hessian Minister for Labor, Integration, Youth, and Social Affairs; Lutz Köhler from the Darmstadt-Dieburg district; and Pfungstadt's Mayor, Max Schimmel. Officials from other Pfungstadt clubs also participated.
The Pfungstadt Accordion Association provided the musical accompaniment. After the speeches, there was an opportunity for conversation over refreshments.
Music and activities at the anniversary celebration
The anniversary celebrations continued on Saturday at the club grounds. First, the Transylvanian musicians played, followed by a performance from Roberto Moreno, who is also a regular at the Pfungstadt fair.
For the first time at such an event , DJK Concordia Pfungstadt collaborated with the local dog lovers' association to provide the food . In addition to sangria, non-alcoholic cocktails were also offered. This was part of the "Enjoy Sport Alcohol-Free" campaign of the State Sports Federation.
The program also included glitter tattoos, a raffle, a playback show by the theatre group, and a tree donation campaign for Pfungstadt.
Play Fair Award for the Chairwoman
The club chairwoman received a surprise: she was awarded the Play Fair Award by the German Olympic Society. The award was presented to her by the society's chairman during the anniversary celebration.
The festive weekend concluded on Sunday at 11 a.m. with a church service led by Pastor Nowak on the club grounds. Afterwards, the city cyclists were blessed there.
Following the anniversary celebrations, the club thanked its sponsors and supporters, the dog lovers' association, and all the helpers.
