Four new services offer grades, international press, learning videos and language courses
The Groß-Gerau city library is expanding its digital offerings. Readers now have access to four additional services: "eNote," "kompreno," "Studyflix," and "uTalk." These services are funded through the Hessian digital funding program and will initially be available until the end of 2027.
Access is via the eLibraries Hesse. Users select the Groß-Gerau city library there and log in with their library credentials. They can then select the available digital resources.
Digital music library with more than 80,000 scores
With "eNote," musicians gain access to a digital music library with more than 80,000 scores. The service is aimed at orchestras, choirs, soloists, and bands, among others. The focus is on classical music, but the repertoire is increasingly being expanded to include contemporary compositions and current arrangements.
Various filters allow you to select pieces by instrument, length, or key, for example. Sheet music can also be downloaded for offline use. Furthermore, you can integrate your own pieces, arrangements, and notes as PDFs or audio recordings. When using the program on multiple devices, data can be synchronized via the cloud.
International press with “kompreno”
The "kompreno" service provides access to journalistic content from various European countries. Selected articles from newspapers and magazines are available in languages including German, English, French, Spanish, and Italian.
This service aims to allow readers to explore diverse international perspectives on current topics. It is also suitable for people who read in multiple languages or wish to improve their foreign language skills. The service can be used free of charge with a valid library card.
More than 7,000 learning videos on Studyflix
Studyflix adds another digital learning platform. More than 7,000 animated learning videos cover topics from various subject areas and are aimed at school pupils, university students and trainees.
In addition to the videos, articles with summaries and quizzes are available. A special feature applies to access via the city library: While Studyflix has its own app, library login is only possible via a web browser.
Learn more than 150 languages with "uTalk"
"uTalk" is aimed at people who want to learn a new language or refresh their existing knowledge. The service covers more than 150 languages and over 60 topics – from food and travel to work and everyday situations.
More than 100 source languages and around 20,000 language learning combinations are available. Words, phrases, and sentences are spoken by native speakers. Playful exercises are designed to help build vocabulary and improve pronunciation.
Further information about the digital services can be found on the website of the city of Groß-Gerau and on the internet portal of the Groß-Gerau city library.
The city library at Gernsheimer Straße 5 is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 pm to 6 pm, Wednesdays from 10 am to 1 pm, and Fridays from 3 pm to 7 pm. It can be reached by phone at 06152 7165210 and by email at stadtbuecherei@gross-gerau.de .
