Autumn collection starts with two collection points in the city area
The hazardous waste collection vehicle of the Zweckverband Abfall- und Wertstoffsammlung (ZAW) (Waste and Recycling Association) will begin its autumn collection in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district in Griesheim. On Thursday, July 23, residents can drop off hazardous waste free of charge at two locations within the town.
Due to construction work at the Rewe Center parking lot on Flughafenstraße, the stop there will be cancelled. Instead, the waiting time at the two remaining collection points will be extended.
Two locations on July 23rd
The mobile hazardous waste collection unit will be stopping on Thursday, July 23rd, at the following times:
- 11 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.: Parking lot at the cemetery, Friedhofsweg
- 2:45 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Berliner Straße/corner of Brucknerstraße
In addition, further collection dates are available in Griesheim at the Sterngasse fairground near the Hegelsberghalle :
- August 8th, 9 am to 12 pm
- October 10th, 9 am to 12 pm
- December 5th, 9 am to 12 pm
Special waste can also be dropped off at all other collection dates of the hazardous waste collection vehicle in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district.
Wall paint is not hazardous waste
The ZAW points out that water-based emulsion paints , such as wall or facade paints, are not considered hazardous waste. Dried paint residue can be disposed of in the regular trash and will not be accepted at the mobile hazardous waste collection point.
