A community festival on August 23rd brings people together on Heidelberg's main street
Share a meal, celebrate, and engage in conversation: The Eberstadt Neighborhood Forum invites everyone to the "Eberstadt at One Table" community festival on Sunday, August 23, 2026. From 12 pm to 3 pm, a long table will be set up on Heidelberger Landstraße, where residents of Eberstadt can gather and eat together.
Following the events in 2018, 2019, and 2022, "Eberstadt at One Table" is taking place for the fourth time. Visitors are welcome to bring their own drinks and snacks. A selection of non-alcoholic beverages and snacks will also be available, and tables and benches will be set up on site.
"The community festival brings the people of Eberstadt together and provides a setting for interesting encounters and conversations," explains Mayor Hanno Benz. At the same time, the event strengthens community spirit and cohesion within the district.
Music, interactive activities and bicycle repair workshop
The community festival will be opened at noon by Ludwig Achenbach, the district administrator of Eberstadt. The supporting program includes performances by the children's choir of the Wilhelm-Hauff-School and the Eberstadt singing school directed by Anna Kobinger. Visitors can also participate in a sing-along. The gospel choir "His Glory Music Ministry" from southern Eberstadt will also be performing.
The Waldoni Circus Project will be present with walk-around acts. The Werkhof (workshop/construction yard) will offer a bicycle repair workshop in the courtyard in front of the Evangelical Church's community center. In addition, there will be arts and crafts activities and other hands-on activities for children.
Numerous organizations from the district support the festival. These include, among others, the Catholic Church in Eberstadt, Katholisch Leben.Eberstadt (Catholic Life Eberstadt), the YMCA, Eberstadt Aid, the Mobile Practice, the Senior Citizens' Network, the German-Egyptian Friendship Circle, the Caritas Center Eberstadt South, the Eberstadt Associations Interest Group, the Eberstadt Citizens' Association, and "Gemeinsam stark in Eberstadt" (Strong Together in Eberstadt).
The event is sponsored by the Hans Erich and Marie Elfriede Dotter Foundation. "Awakening and strengthening local resources – that is the motto of our foundation, which is being implemented here in an exemplary manner – for the entire district," explains Managing Director Katrin Tönshoff-Wilkes.
Heidelberger Landstraße will be closed
For the community festival, Heidelberger Landstraße between Seeheimer Straße and Ringstraße will be closed to traffic on Sunday, August 23, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Residents are asked to move their vehicles in advance.
