NALA project promotes integration into the labor market through low-threshold offers on site
As part of the “Living and working” (NALA) project, the Werkhof e. V. Unemployed people in Darmstadt support -related support on the way to qualification and work. An example of this is the "Handmade Together" sewing course, which takes place in Eberstadt-Süd. Under professional management, the participants can further develop creative skills, exchange ideas and strengthen each other.
"The collaboration, the exchange and the mutual support creates a sense of community. This forms the basis for further steps in the world of work. But recognizing one's own skills is also important in order to get closer to the labor market," says Mayor and Social Affairs Director Barbara Akdeniz .
Creative offer with sustainable approach
The course is managed by Carmen Eberling from Werkhof e. V. The participants work with fabrics, wool and different techniques. The course promotes important skills such as fine motor skills, patience, teamwork and creative problem solving. At the same time, it enables encounters with like -minded people - a central aspect for social interaction in the district.
Another focus is on sustainability : When upcycling and reuse of materials, a conscious handling of resources is promoted.
Part of the BIWAQ funding program
The NALA project is funded by the "Education, Economy, Working in the Quartier - Biwaq" from the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building and the European Union via the European Social Fund Plus . The science city of Darmstadt also supports Nala with its own resources.
In addition to Eberstadt-Süd, the NALA project is also implemented in Kranichstein and in the Pallaswiesen/Mornewegviertel . The aim is to create professional perspectives , to reduce hurdles and to strengthen social cohesion in the district.
