Ceiling renovation begins on September 28 – diversion also affects bus line BE1 and access to consumer markets
Friedrich -Ebert-Straße in Seeheim-Jugenheim will be completely closed at the town's exit towards Federal Highway 3 starting Monday, September 28, 2026.The closure is due to road surface repairs. The work is expected to last until October 23 .
According to the municipality, particularly the frost and cold weather last winter led to significant damage and recurring potholes. These were initially repaired with cold asphalt. Now, a larger section of road is to undergo comprehensive repairs.
Supermarkets only accessible via Heidelberger Straße
During the complete closure, the consumer markets on Friedrich-Ebert-Straße can only be accessed via Heidelberger Straße
Even outside the completely closed section, road users should expect disruptions. Further along Friedrich-Ebert-Straße, short-term partial closures are possible due to gutter replacement work.
The municipal utilities are also using the roadworks to replace water valve caps and renew hydrants.
Bus route BE1 does not stop at three stops
Public transport is also affected by the closure. From September 28th, bus route BE1 will temporarily not serve the stops "Im Bangert", "Tannenstraße" and "Gewerbegebiet" .
From the Villenave-D'Ornon-Platz stop, the bus instead travels via Heidelberger Straße towards Jugenheim directly to the school village and then on to Bickenbach.
According to current plans, the renovation work should be completed on October 23rd and the closure lifted afterwards.
