Traditional reception for the Goddelau fair: Mayor Marcus Kretschmann welcomes the fair lads at the Riedstadt town hall
On Monday, the Goller Kerweborsch (young men of the village fair) paraded through the Riedstadt town hall, carrying flags and singing the traditional fair song. Their destination was the council chamber, where Mayor Marcus Kretschmann welcomed the group to the traditional town hall reception.
Unlike last year, when the Kerweborsch took advantage of the good weather and simply sat down with a small barrel of beer in front of the town hall, this time their route led them through the entire building again.
With festival song and flags through three floors
Waving flags and singing, the Kerweborsch conquered all three floors of the town hall before arriving in the council chamber.
There, Mayor Marcus Kretschmann provided beer and chatted with visitors about the Goddelau fair so far.
Finally, everyone went together to the roof terrace of the town hall. There, the traditional group photo with the mayor was taken.
